Emma with Green Party leader Caroline Lucas

Emma has lived in Islington for 16 years. Now based in Highbury, she is a mum of three and her children attend a local primary school. She is a member of the Friends of Gillespie Park and committed community campaigner.

Emma is currently involved in the campaigns to save the A&E and maternity units at the Whittington Hospital and to protect the ancient grassland at the NCH site on Highbury Park - the 'Save our Secret Garden' campaign.

Over the last four years Emma has worked closely with Islington's Green Councillor, Katie Dawson, to help deliver a range of innovative policies across the borough. These include free sport for local teenagers; £1 million for new allotments for local people to grow their own food; an improved apprenticeship scheme for young people; and a new reuse and repair service for household goods - the first of its kind in the whole country. Islington has also recently become the first borough nationally to introduce a blanket 20mph speed limit for all residential streets - another Green Party initiative.
